Add Pages to Your Passport

Passport Renewal
Watch video

A newly issued passport is issued with 28 pages. Seventeen of those pages are blank pages to be used for country entry and exit stamps or visa approvals. If you are a frequent international travel, or you have had your passport for a number of years you may find yourself needing additional pages for your passport. While some countries have no restrictions on your passport other than validity, other countries may not allow entry if you have less than a certain number of blank pages left in your passport. It is important to keep track of both the number of blank pages you have left – and to know whether the country you are planning to visit has specialized requirements. There are two ways to have more pages in your passport booklet.

If you are a frequent traveler and make multiple international visits in a short period of time, you can request a larger passport book that contains a total of 52 pages, 43 of which are blank for visa and country stamps. This request is performed at the time of passport application by checking the “52 page” check box at the top of your application form. You should know that the US State Department may not be able to honor the request, depending on supply which is not guaranteed. If your request cannot be met, you will be sent a regular passport as normal.

If you have a valid passport that does not need renewal and simply need additional pages added, they are provided upon application and added in packets of 24 blank visa pages.

Additional Pages Requirements:

You qualify for a request for additional pages if:

  1. You have less than 4 blank visa pages in your passport book
  2. Your passport is valid (and not expired) and is in good condition
  3. You are able to submit your current passport book to have additional pages attached

If, however your passport is not lost or damaged, and has expired, you will need to apply for a passport renewal.

Please proceed to the child’s passport page if you are under the age of 16
